ARC
is an authorized provider of EMS First Aid programs. EMS
First Aid is a WSIB approved training agency.
These programs were developed jointly by Canadian EMS experts and
U.S. training and research bodies, the American Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons (AAOS) and the American College of Emergency Physicians
(ACEP).
EMS
First Aid is the public training department of Toronto EMS, Canada’s
largest EMS service, and well known as a leading EMS educator. For
more than a decade, EMS First Aid has brought their realistic and
useful training programs to the public in Toronto, and increasingly,
throughout Ontario. EMS First Aid trains 15,000 students per year.
ARC is an authorized provider of the EMS First Aid program, and
only uses EMS First Aid approved instructors for our first aid programs.
The AAOS is a world-leader in EMS education. The AAOS developed
the first American EMT training program more than 25 years ago,
and has been revising its training program and materials continuously
since then.
The
ACEP, just as well known as the AAOS, is a world leader in medical
emergency management. By bringing together ACEP's medical emergency
expertise with AAOS' trauma management expertise, the ECSI is able
to offer the best educational materials on any topic in the first
aid and first responder fields. They offer beautifully laid out,
easy to use and authoritative materials on every topic from the
simplest CPR course to Paramedic level texts.
 |
We also offer an innovative
instructor/examiner system. While all first response instructors
are certified with national training agencies as first responders
and first responder instructors, ARC only uses Paramedics who
are senior instructors as examiners. This means that candidates
can be assured that their certification is given by trainers
with personal experience and educational expertise beyond that
of the average First Responder Instructor. |
